Network Project Europe's Nuclear Heritage

We want to found an international network office for anti-nuclear and anti-GMO activities. We want to help to connect people in different countries, give information about people who can translate texts from one language into another, give contacts of experts in the countries, initialize network meetings, support publication of international info material with background information...

The plan is to have an office with the needed infrastructure, documents, and space to work; a point to which other people can come, phone or mail, if they have questions or need contact to other activists. And we want one or two persons working in this office for little money to live (but it will be more a kind of voluntary service with a kind of pocket money). Those people are thought to rotate continuously, for example there is a person from Germany working there for half a year and then another person, maybe from another country comes and continues this work. This principle of rotation refers only to the money; I hope there will be some people working in this office without money, really as volunteers. The rotation is thought to help to develop a real equal network with not only one group benefiting from the money we organize.

The project could start on February 1st, 2009, if we succeed with the application we have to give to the European Union in October 2008. We will have to read much about the way EU finances those network project because it is another part of the YOUTH program we don't have experience with. And we will have to think much about the details of the application and how we have to express our ideas. So we need the partner confirmation forms as soon as possible because they are part of the application.

It is possible to get a maximum of 20.000 EUR from the European Union for those network projects, but we have to organize some other 50% of the sum. We will have to contact other supporters for this...

I hope we will get money for the volunteers working in the office, for publications, for the infrastructure and for costs of meetings.
