updates from projects and working groups

  • media group:
    • The media group is preparing a new media release on 24th of February.
    • The next media release of the ATOMIC BALTIC network/project will be about the upcoming anti nuclear camp near Kiel in Germany this summer from 9th of August - 16th of August 2014.
  • finances group:
    • There will for now just be one person doing the work.
  • coordination group:
    • There will for now just be one person doing the work.
  • networking:
    • B was in Lithuania, Russia and Finland for networking in January/February 2014.
    • topics were:
      • the book project (publishing in Finland, people joining the investigations)
      • publication of articles on ATOMIC BALTIC topics
      • arranging information events on the atomic threats around the Baltic Sea and photo exhibitions on anti-nuclear struggles in the region starting in autumn 2014
      • promotion of the anti-nuclear summer camp for gathering anti-nuclear activists of the Baltic Sea region
      • preparing new publications
      • talks with experts and NGO representatives
      • discussion of possible campaigns to be launched against nuclear industry in Finland and Germany
      • finding new supporters of our network/project
      • preparing two art exhibitions connecting to environmental issues with two Finnish artists to take place in Germany in 2015
      • connecting Finnish activists with Germans working in similar fields
      • including projects and campaigns to the ATOMIC BALTIC network/project
      • supporting local struggles (e.g. against Sokli mine, Talvivaara mine) with the resources/capacities of this project
    • details of networking talks were shared only in the Skype conference and are not in the documentation for public
