From October 30 - November 1, 2008, the Final Disposal Symposium took place in Berlin. It was organized by the Federal Ministry of Environment together with some Anti-nuclear people from the Wendland region. Topic of the event was the final disposal of high radioactive nuclear waste in deep geological formations. There were several presentations and lectures about final disposals in other countries and about special aspects connected with existing or planned German final repositories.
