Slovakia: Further delay at Mochovce NPP ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico informed at the so called European Nuclear Forum, that finishing works for block 3+4 will again have some delay. It will not be possible to stick to the planned date for finishing block 3, which was originally planned for December this year. Block 3 is now expected to start the production of electricity in the second half of 2016 or even 2017. At the time of the beginning of the construction process in 2008, the plans for start up had been 2012 for block 3 and 2013 for block 4. Also financial problems hamper the project, since the planned costs of 2,8 billion € had to be lifted to 3,8 billion already.
