1.  Le gouvernement australien accepte de vendre de l'uranium à l'Inde

Aujourd'hui, je suis au regret d'annoncer que le gouvernement
australien a accepté de vendre de l'uranium à l'Inde. Cette opération
ignore totalement les recommandations des autorités supérieures - y
compris celles des bureaucrates australiens et des défenseurs du
nucléaire qui ont alerté sur les risques que cet accord fait courir.
Il a même été décrit comme "le principal problème actuel concernant la
non-prolifération" dans la mesure où l'Inde continue à tester des
armes capables de lancer des missiles et a la claire intention
d'utiliser l'uranium mondial afin de réserver ses stocks nationaux
pour l'armement. Le Contrôleur Général de l'Inde lui-même a été
extrêmement critique quant à la sûreté des centrales nucléaires du
pays (le nucléaire n'est jamais sûr mais c'est un avertissement clair
de sa part !). Nous n'avons pas été capables d'arrêter la mise en
place de cet accord commercial mais nous pouvons et nous devons faire
en sorte qu'aucune mine d'uranium ne soit ouverte et ne vienne
alimenter les menaces nucléaires en Inde ou ailleurs.

Entretemps dans la région des Goldfields, deux propositions de mines
d'uranium sont désormais soumises aux commentaires de l'opinion
publique : Yeelirrie et l'extension de Wiluna.  Une action est en
ligne pour protester contre la mine d'uranium de Yeelirrie. Elle se
termine le 14 décembre  - alors signez-la et faites-la connaître !

2.  La centrale nucléaire de Dukovany pose problème
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bien que le rapport intitulé "Quatre ans après Fukushima : les
centrales nucléaires sont-elles plus sûres ?", écrit par Oda Becker et
Patricia Lorenz recommandait au mois de septembre de "fermer
immédiatement la centrale de Dukovany" et s'opposait incontestablement
au PLEX (Programme d'Extension de la Durée de Vie), c'est tout le
contraire qui a lieu en République tchèque. Certains hommes
politiques, l'association Energetické Třebíčsko (ET) ainsi que les
Gouverneurs de la Moravie du sud et de la région de Vysočina
soutiennent les efforts de CEZ (1er producteur d'électricité de
République tchèque) pour prolonger le fonctionnement de tous les blocs
existants de Dukovany. Dans le même temps, ces mêmes politiciens sont
en train d'essayer de modifier l'amendement des lois sur la
construction et sur les marchés publics afin d'accélérer le processus
de construction d'une nouvelle unité (la 5ème) au sein de la centrale
de Dukovany. En effet, une nouvelle centrale complémentaire Dukovany
II devrait être créée, ce qui entraînerait donc en cet automne 2015
une demande d'Étude d'Impact Environnemental (EIE) non plus pour une
seule mais pour deux nouveaux blocs à Dukovany.

3.  Événements antinucléaires à Prague et Brzkov
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mercredi 4 novembre, deux événements intéressants se sont déroulés.
Ils avaient deux choses en commun : l'exploitation minière de
l'uranium et la présence du maire de Brzkov, ville où le 18 décembre
2014 le gouvernement tchèque a autorisé le processus de préparation de
cette exploitation de l'uranium.

4.  Finlande : Semaine d'actions pour récupérer la région du Cap
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fin avril 2016, cela fera un an que Fennovoima a commencé à préparer
la région du Cap Hanhikivi pour la construction de la nouvelle
centrale nucléaire en Finlande du Nord. Au même moment, le camp de
protestation contre Fennovoima célébrera son 1er anniversaire. Ce camp
a réussi à rester au sein de la zone de construction durant cinq mois
et a été capable de ralentir les travaux de construction. Durant
l'été,  plusieurs douzaines d'actions de blocages ont eu lieu et la
presse a parlé de différentes actions de sabotage. En septembre, après
l'expulsion qui s'est déroulée sur huit jours,  le camp a été déplacé
à l'extérieur du site de construction afin de continuer ses activités
grâce à l'aide de sympathisants locaux. À aucun moment les actions de
barrage et autres activités pour militer contre l'énergie nucléaire
n'ont cessé.

Fin avril, nous allons retourner sur le site de construction.
L'objectif est de paralyser l'ensemble du site de construction, et ce
pour longtemps. Si le groupe est suffisamment important, nous pourrons
occuper à nouveau la zone et y rester. Nous souhaitons non seulement
réoccuper cette zone mais aussi envahir les régions environnantes par
des actions contre Fennovoima, l'energie nucléaire, la destruction de
la nature et le capitalisme, en respectant les différentes tactiques
des uns et des autres.

Ce camp/action sur le long terme est un gros challenge en Finlande où
les gens qui prennent part à la désobéissance civile (et aux actions
politiques de terrain en général) ne sont pas si nombreux. La
solidarité et la participation d'autres pays d'Europe et de tous les
coins de la planète sont bien sûr les bienvenues. Ce camp/campagne et
les actions qui ont eu lieu autour d'eux ont permis de bloquer la
centrale nucléaire, et ils vont continuer à le faire. Vous n'allez
quand même pas manquer l'occasion d'y participer !

5.  Accident at Leningrad NPP

An emergency stop of the second power unit of Leningrad Nuclear Power
Plant took place on Friday, December 18, 2015 at 13:50. The reason for
the stop and cooling of the reactor was a sudden leak of radioactive
steam from a faulty pipe in one of the rooms of the turbine shop. Both
the turbines that serve the reactor were stopped.

During the cooling-down step, the reactor steam was ejected through
the pipe into the environment. A south-southeast wind of 5 meters per
second (not typical for this area) blew the radioactive steam toward
the Gulf of Finland, in the direction of Vyborg - Zelenogorsk. The
radiation background in the center of Sosnovy Bor, 5 km from the
emergency unit, at 17:00 was measured by Green World and was 20 μR/hr
(typical background level).

Thus, the five millionth city of St. Petersburg, located 40 km east of
the Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant was fortunate this time. According
to some sources, the radiation level rose a few times higher than the
background radiation only in the NPP area.

6.  Southeastern European Anti-Nuke Network along Danube River

As a result of an international meeting in Lower Austria's regional
capital St. Pölten in 2014 the Vienna based NGO "Wiener Plattform
Atomkraftfrei e.V." with Paula Stegmüller, Maria Urban, Johanna
Nekowitsch, Margit Quendler and Magdalena Waygand as driving forces
were able to initiate an internet-based platform with nuclear-critics
from Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Slovenia,
Hungary, Rumänia and Bulgaria. They invite you to visit their new

7.  Kakadu Charter marks 15 years of shared values 
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What started as opposition to plans for uranium mining at Jabiluka
has grown into a powerful platform for a different and better way of
doing business in Kakadu. ERA is now majority owned by Rio Tinto who
have publicly vowed not to mine Jabiluka without the consent of the
Mirarr. This significant improvement in circumstances was bolstered by
the end of threatened uranium mining elsewhere in Kakadu when the
former Koongarra Project Area was incorporated into the surrounding
Kakadu National Park and permanently protected from mining.

8.  Nuclear waste dump battle begins - again

After failed attempts to impose a national nuclear waste repository in
South Australia and the Northern Territory, the federal government has
embarked on its latest attempt to find a site.

9.  Film about the impossibility of finding the safest place on earth
    also in Czech now
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The (English/German) documentary "Journey to the safest place on
Earth" by Swiss filmmaker Edgar Hagen shows how in different parts of
the world it is absurd to think, finding a place for storing nuclear
waste was an easy thing. Edgar Hagen visits Germany, Austria, 
Australia, China, the USA, Japan, Switzerland or England. And what
does he find? The safest place on earth?

This film seems to be a very good instrument to show people whose
communities are in danger of becoming a big nuclear toilette, on which
grounds such localities are being chosen. Thanks to the NGOs Calla
"Sonne und Freiheit" as well as due to the support of the regional
government of Upper Austria this documentary can now be offered also
with Czech subtitles and already started to be shown in affected
regions in the Czech Republic. The film also was part of the film
Ekofilm Festival in Brno in South Moravia on December 3-5, 2015. If
