Ranua is one of the locations in Finland where Areva proposed to mine for Uranium. On August 13th first actions took place in several cities because the municipality of Ranua wanted to decide if they oppose against or agree with [[Nuclear Companies#Areva|Areva]]'s plans to explore for Uranium in Ranua.
