You were invited to join this fourth working meeting week of the Atomic Threats In The Baltic Sea Region project! - This meeting was an opportunity for you to get involved to the network/project, to continue your project activities, to volunteer for tasks and also to network with other activists joining the event.

We can possibly help with your travel costs, if needed. In this case, please contact the finances group as soon as possible and before you come!

issues to be discussed

  • preparation for the international anti-nuclear summer camp near Kiel (August 9-16, 2014) for gathering activists from around the Baltic Sea: May 6, 2014 at 10 AM
    • we will organize two events at the camp:
      1. presentation "Atomic Threats In The Baltic Sea Region" (probably during the first days of the camp)
      2. Baltic Sea Regional Anti-nuclear Meeting - for international anti-nuclear activists to get to know each other and for exchange (probably at the end of the camp)
        • special method for exchange and getting to know each other, e.g. whisper rounds
    • we will translate the English call-out into German and Russian and spread it via internet
      • if available English lectures/workshops offered in the camp shall be mentioned
    • we want to publish a new media release to promote the camp internationally again a few weeks before it starts (see media group meeting)
    • we will update and extend the camp page on the Nuclear Heritage Network website
    • we raised some questions to the camp organizers concerning international guests:
      • what supporting opportunities are provided by organizers (e.g. regarding visa, travel costs, ...)
      • will there be special legal support for international participants, too? (English speaking legal team, multilingual legal information, information specifically on legal aspects for foreigners)
      • shall there be a special contact address (we?) for international participants, or shall the general contact address of the camp be used?
  • preparation of next working meeting in September: May 9, 2014 at 9.30 AM
    • where? (people in other Baltic Sea countries are considering to arrange it)
    • writing and spreading a new call-out for this meeting
    • practical arrangements to be discussed
  • discussion of main roles and tasks: May 8, 2014 at 8.30 PM
    • division of responsibilities and tasks is not well done so far - an important challenge to be faced
  • secure communication - software workshop: May 7, 2014 at 1 PM

As new people joined the working meeting, who were not involved so far, we provided an introduction day to give an overview and introduce them to those topics they are particularly interested in. If you are one of those new people, please contact us[1] soon so that we can get prepared!
