On this page we collect which resources we will need for the Baltic Sea Info Tour.

Work in process (obviously). "Not yet clear" can mean (at least):

  • that no-one has updated the situation yet; currently this is the case in most cases. (it could also be that the relevant info is still only in the Unstructured Section )
  • that we don't have anything
  • that it's not clear if we need to get something

Note: Below the structured list, there's the Unstructured Section For Quick Posting:

The idea is to have a space where info/stuff/ideas can be put & updated fast, but that the Structured list can still stay Structured (somewhat)...

What we need (or want) / What we have (or can get) / Possibilities & Ideas

This list is still very general, later it should become more detailed step by step.

Needs: We have: Ideas for possible solutions:
Plans for Activities, f.ex:
- Public events
(at the local stops of the Tour)
- not yet clear - should be organized by local people/groups
- international organizers + local people discuss together which topics would be interesting for the region and what can be offered
* Presentations * not yet clear * make a list of presentations/topics the participants of the Tour or the local people can offer
* Practical workshops * not yet clear * make a list of practical workshops the participants of the Tour or the local people can offer
- Actions - not yet clear - local people should make suggestions which topics would be important for the region and which kinds of actions they would like to do
- other participants of the Tour could also make suggestions, but the local people's opinions should be considered
- decide together what action we want to do
- Meetings with groups
(to get to know each other, exchange information and experience, and to plan joint activities)
- not yet clear - when the dates of the local stops are clear, locals or Tour participants should make suggestions for meetings
- local people should then organize the venue and invite other local activists to join the meetings
- Other program
(e.g. visits to nuclear facilities)
- not yet clear - locals or Tour activists should make suggestions and decide who will try to organize it
- this might take some time to prepare, so start organizing early!
Promotion, Informing, Outreach, Advertizing
- Locally/nationally! - not yet clear - local promotion should be done by local people
- national or international promotion should be done by organizers of the Tour project or together by Tour organizers and locals
* to potentially interested groups * not yet clear * not yet clear
* to/in media? * not yet clear * not yet clear
- advertising, e.g. online or in magazines - not yet clear - create internet banners and print media advertisments promoting the Tour and webpage
- ask webmasters for publishing the banner and advertisments
- outreach - not yet clear - print materials
- distribute them locally and internationally
- for local promotion could be done by locals, or Tour organizers provide a draft for Tour posters or flyers for local use; for international promotion Tour organizers create these materials
* print leaflets, brochures * not yet clear * discuss which leaflets, brochures etc. should be created for the Tour and when and by whom; then realize these plans
* print posters (f.ex. Nuclear Baltic Map) * not yet clear * discuss which leaflets, brochures etc. should be created for the Tour and when and by whom; then realize these plans
General info for travel planning
- Valid passports... - not yet clear - inform on website and maybe also in invitations about requirements of passports/visa for travelling to certain countries around the Baltic Sea
- investigate these national requirements
- all participants have to check themselves that they have valid documents to cross the borders of these countries
- provide hints how to get the right documents on the website
* Possible visas
(visa applications in time!)
* not yet clear * participants might need support to get visa, e.g. invitation letters from local organizations (partner groups?) or from the organizers of the Tour
* it's important to apply for visa early enough - it can take some weeks or even months!
- National currencies? - not yet clear - investigate which currencies can be used in which of the countries around the Baltic Sea
- provide these information on the website
- organize that we have cash and other possibilities to buy stuff on the Tour
- all participants have to make sure themselves that they have enough money in the right currencies for themselves on the Tour
- IT info, f.ex. phone connections - not yet clear - do investigationson cheap mobile networks, UMTS internet access etc. for all countries around the Baltic Sea, including internet cafés and other places where we could have internet and phone access
- publish these information on the website
- probably organize a phone and maybe also mobile internet access for the Tour for some or all countries
- Legal & dito: - not yet clear - investigate on legal basics and other useful information for all countries around the Baltic Sea and publish them on the website
- could mean to contact local groups/activists to get these information easier
- maybe it will be necessary to translate information into English for the website
* Regulations regarding political activities etc. * not yet clear * ask partner groups or political activists of the countries for information/help
* check webpages for more information (like legal support pages of these countries)
* maybe translate information into English
* publish these information on the website
* Camping possibilities? * not yet clear * ask partner groups / local people for information/help to find out about camping in nature (regulations?), camping sites, costs, threats...
* check webpages for more information (like tourist information pages of these countries)
* maybe translate information into English
* publish these information on the website
* Special issues like temporary cancellings of Schengen-agreement etc... * not yet clear - ask partner groups or political activists of the countries for information/help
* check webpages for more information (like legal support pages or political activists' pages of these countries)
* maybe translate information into English
* publish these information on the website
- Public transport and/or Traffic Info - not yet clear - investigate on information about hitchhiking, public transport, possibilities to go for free and experiences (e.g. ask local groups/people, check webpages about free economy or radical movements, also official webpages of the transport companies and tourist information webpages)
