Nuclear Waste Transport to Ahaus

• transport of high level and other radioactive waste to the temporary repository in Ahaus (D), partly in CASTOR-like containers, including nuclear materials from several German nuclear facilities
• the transport of high level radioactive waste from Ahaus (D) to Russia that was proposed to be done on December 16/17, 2010 has been cancelled as a result of massive protests German
• first transports were announced for the beginning of 2010, but by May 2010 they did not occur; the transports of about 150 containers similar to the CASTOR containers are supposed to start in 2011
